While I was doing my week in review, I came across a news story regarding the proposed raise for the Governor and Lt. Governor that was put before the Fono. The first thought that ran through my mind was, "Here we go! With everything going on, they want to tax the people more to raise the Governor's salary?"
I read the article and was so relieved and, quite frankly, full of admiration for the Governor. His response to the whole issue shows me that he has greater concerns for our island and people. Thank-you so much for showing that politicians do have moral fiber. Thank-you for showing that you are there to serve your people rather than to be served. It is refreshing and restores faith in our public servants.
