A native of American Samoa who is teaching in Safford, Arizona, has been honored as one of the outstanding teachers in the area.
Mrs. Tauaituli “Tuli” Sorensen teaches at the Triumphant Learning Center in Safford, and will be receiving the Phyllis Ann Bryce Teacher Recognition award.
The Safford Rotary Club, which presents the awards, said “Tuli has been with Triumphant Learning Center for 3 years. She arrives early and leaves late just to be available for her students. She is very energetic and enthusiastic in the classroom. Tuli encourages her students to always do their best and she models professionalism in speech, dress, and her desire to do what is right.
