Governor Togiola Tulafono will be unveiling the American Samoa Flag Stamp this Saturday, June 14th, which also happens to be United States Flag Day.

Governor Togiola said the U.S. Postal Service will issue the first ten stamps in a new series of sixty stamps which will highlight and celebrate the fifty states, four new Stars and Stripes stamps, and stamps for the District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories.

The Governor today expressed his delight that the stamps will unfurl in alphabetical order beginning with Alabama through Delaware - and the Territory is part of the first ten designs to be issued this Saturday.

“This is truly an honor for American Samoa and our territorial flag to be issued in this first series of stamps in the Flags of Our Nation series,” said Governor Togiola. “Our colorful American Samoa stamp features an image of our beautiful flag gently waving alongside the landscape of the mountains of our islands and coconut trees. I believe it reflects a wonderful island feeling spirit, a spirit that we are all proud of, and it should be a very popular stamp in the Territory as well as off island, and especially for collectors.”

Governor Togiola will host a special ceremony to dedicate the American Samoa stamp this Saturday, June 14 at 10:30am on the lawn of the Executive Office Building in Utulei.
