The Attorney General's Office is investigating the disappearance of missing weapons stolen from the Department of Public Safety.
According to police sources, a 20-year police veteran has been identified as the individual who sold two weapons to police in neighboring Samoa. The weapons were recovered in Apia. The police veteran resigned from the force last week, after an AK-47 assault rifle was recovered from the officer's home.
Attorney General Fepuleai Afa Ripley is reviewing the findings of an investigation that was launched by his office into the disappearance of the weapons.
