Informative and entertaining. A live morning show featuring a line up of guests discussing current community issues. American Samoa's most popular morning talk show, watched worldwide online.
More than 200 students are making the most of their summer as they participate in this year’s Workforce Investment Act summer youth employment program. The program is directed and organized by the Department of Human Resources and is open to private and public high school students, as well as students of the American Samoa Community College.
All students attended an orientation this past Monday for a briefing of what to expect during their eight weeks of employment. An official opening ceremony was held the next day at the Samoana High School gymnasium to kickoff the program. The students received words of advice, encouragement, and were also commended for their decision to spend their summer learning and building working skills. Governor Togiola was among the honorable guests in attendance, and during his address he asked the program’s directors and supervisors not to use the students to run simple errands such as getting coffee, but to instead challenge them with real work so that they may be better prepared for future employment.
Yesterday was the first day of work for the students, and they are receiving hands-on experience from both the private and government sector.
