The Bank of Hawaii, as the first Platinum Sponsor for the Festival of Pacific Arts, has asked for, and received acquistion rights to name the Festival Media Center in honor of the bank. Located next to the Festival Village at Samoana High School, the Media Center will hereafter be called the Bank of Hawaii Media Center to honor our first Platinum Sponsor. Platinum Sponsors are donors who have given 50,000 USD to support the Festival.
Early in the year, Bank of Hawaii made their committment to the Festival of Pacific Arts, and because of this generous donation, they have been granted this right.
The Media Center itself will be the gathering place for regional and international media who will join our community for the duration of the Festival. One of the unique highlights of this Festival will be daily live satellite feeds to the entire Pacific region. New Zealand, Australia, Tonga, New Caledonia, and most islands of the Pacific, including Hawaii, will have daily highlights available via satellite and cable.
Local media will be given technical assistance from SPC, headed by Mr. Larry Thomas. KVZK engineers, technicians, and camera crews will collaborate with members of the SPC media staff to ensure that the highlights go out to the world each evening.
