A native of American Samoa has been chosen to fill the post of Command Sergeant Major for the Pacific Regional Medical Command at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. U.S. Army Command Sgt. Major Tuileama Toatolu Nua has accepted the vacant position and is expected to arrive in Honolulu soon with his wife and children.
He is currently in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he became Command Sergeant Major in 2006 for the United States Army 44th Medical Command.
Nua, who is from Ta’u Manu’a, attended Faleasao Elementary. He then moved to Tutuila and attended Fagaitua High School. After graduation, he joined the US military in 1977. Nua’s educational background also extends to the University of Maryland, where he obtained an associate degree in management. He was also a graduate of the Sergeants Major Academy - Class 51.
